Back-of-house floors also need proper slope to drains and coved detailing where the floor meets the wall. LVP suits dining rooms and front-of-house, but a commercial kitchen floor is a tile job.

Hygiene drives the specification: a hard, non-porous, easily cleaned surface with as few seams as possible. Porcelain tile with stain-resistant epoxy grout is the durable choice, and glue-down LVP with welded or tight seams is the faster, quieter one.
